One-way streets: rules for cars and cyclists
1 min read · Updated on October 17, 2026
In a one-way street you may only drive in one direction – shown by the blue sign with a white arrow.

Driving and parking
You only drive in the direction of the arrow. In many one-way streets parking is allowed on both sides unless signs say otherwise.
Cyclists in the opposite direction
If there’s a supplementary sign with a bicycle, cyclists may ride towards you. Expect them.
No entry
At the other end of the one-way street there’s usually the red “no entry” sign – you may not drive in there.
