1 min read · Updated on October 17, 2026
“Points in Flensburg” – you hear it a lot. It means the driving aptitude register at the German Federal Motor Transport Authority.
Vereinfachte Erklärung zum Lernen – keine Rechtsberatung. Verbindlich ist die Straßenverkehrs-Ordnung (StVO).
What do you get points for?
For offences that endanger safety – for example clearly speeding, running red lights or not keeping enough distance.
How many are too many?
At 8 points your licence is revoked. Before that there are reminders and warnings.
In the game
Driving School Germany has Flensburg points too. If you collect too many, you can lose your licence – and have to retake the tests.
